This remarkable house is located across the street from a Civil War marker nothing the place of the Battle of Unison. It is not uncommon to witness the pageantry of a Middleburg fox hunt participants from your own back yard.

It is believed that the original part of the house predates the Civil War as some structural members are bonded together with wooden pegs. The addition part of this home advertises the use of square head nails that gained popularity after the end of the civil war in 1865.
